Paws in the Park, Kent

We had an amazing weekend at our second event like this which we’ve attended this year. Paws in the Park had been recommended to us by stallholders who we chatted to in April at All About Dogs. We’re so glad we took the advice, it was a friendly, super well organised show, with plenty to entertain dogs and humans. Someone said that they really appreciated the large recreational areas for visiting dogs, and this is certainly something we noted too. Walking around on lead, among the crowded feet and legs of humans is not necessarily an ideal day out for many dogs, but at the weekend, seeing them run around in the play areas was fun and reassuring.

Our stall was busy across both days. Supporters came out to visit and we met loads of new people who were greatly interested in the work the charity does. Spending time chatting to people about rescue, adoption, the puppy trade with all the good and bad things around it, is a major reason we decided this year to attend events. There really is nothing to beat talking in person with people who care, and wish to help things get better for the dogs.

It was great having supporters bring along their lovely dogs, some of whom have been helped by the charity, or adopted, they really know why your support matters. Dogs know don’t they, they really know.

Thank you to everyone this year who has come along and supported the two big events we’ve attended. It was a big(ish) decision for us to take to do these. They are quite a demand on volunteer’s time and lots of

preparation goes in to each one. BUT, every second and ounce of effort is worth it. We have loved meeting everyone, especially the dogs, who came along to both events. It’s only because you support the charity that we can do these things, which all helps to deliver help to rescues where it is really needed, and appreciated. Thank YOU!
