Buddy

When Buddy’s owner became too ill to look after him and there was no hope of things improving, her family turned to us for help.

We called on our rescue friends, Rain Rescue in South Yorkshire and they didn’t hesitate to offer help. This despite them working at capacity, as many currently are in the crisis rescues are in.

When Buddy arrived with the team, he was in a bit of a sorry state, reflecting the sad situation his family have been in. But, Rain got to work quickly and after a groom and urgent vet visit, treatment for ear and eye infections started, as well as a few other things. He has a large lump on his torso, which the vet’s advice is to leave well alone.

Buddy will be getting a dental and all his health needs are in hand and taken care of. The Rain Rescue team are smitten with this old boy, he’s in a loving foster home and his future is safe and secure. In spite of having poor eyesight and hearing, he is just the most adorable, loving dog, who also loves his walks and tea!

December 2022

Buddy has been with his adopter for a couple of months. Lindsay initially fostered him, but fell head over heels so Buddy was soon going nowhere! He really has the best possible home where he’s deeply loved, a perfect outcome from a very sad situation.

He’s so lovely, we love him,
he’s very special.
He loves his walks around the wood, we keep a close eye on him because he is deaf, but now he knows the route he follows us well.
He loves sniffing, he’s so exited at walk times.

Summer 2023

After several months of enjoying a wonderful life with his adoptive family, which included lots of walks, hs favourite being the woods, sadly Buddy died in July. He was the most loved and cherished dog imaginable, and we are grateful that Rain Rescue took him in and provided such a loving home for him when his family needed this assistance.
