A big birthday and a new begining

It was 6 years ago that Jill adopted Ollie. And this week he celebrated his 15th birthday. Ollie’s life before rescue and adoption was miserable, and it is testament to the resilience and wonder of dogs how far he has come from that terrible life. He’s had several health challenges to face, but, with the support and love of his family, he lives a happy, healthy and wonderful life in Northern Ireland.

Oliie’s adoption started something special for Jill and Damien. In the years since they took the leap and adopted their special little Ollie, several others have joined them, some of whom have needed some serious veterinary treatment.

“‘Wee Ollie man, such a special little boy. We celebrate you, our first little schnauzer rescue who paved the way for many little souls who have since joined our big family. You make us laugh every single day with your wonderful unique ways. Thank you for changing our lives. You are so loved wee man.

Without Schnauzerfest, Friends Of Rescue, Janetta Harvey, Ashwood Vets, and others, wee Ollie would not be here. The best team.’”

Where Ollie is a few years on from his adoption, Fynn is at the start of his. Having taken a less than conventional route out of a life where he has clearly experienced neglect, today he is recovering safely in his new home, well on the road to recovering from this week’s dental and neutering.

We’ve been supporting Fynn and his brother Bodie for some weeks, navigating a complicated situation for a good outcome for the boys. We’re delighted that Fynn can now concentrate on enjoying his new life. When you support the charity, you are keeping us in a position where we can do this work. Thank you.
