Shadow

It was in 2021 that Schnauzerfest first came to know, and help Shadow while she was with her rescue, Rainbow Rehoming Centre. In August 2023 she needs our help once more. Her full story can be read below.

AUGUST 2023

Since her adoption in 2021 Shadow has been living a wonderful life, making the most of everything it has to offer a little schnauzer. However, in recent weeks she has had a few health issues, all of which her adopters have taken care of with her veterinary team.

But, now she faces a more complicated, and expensive problem - bladder stones - which require surgical removal. After a successful application for financial assistance, a Schnauzerfest Grant is in place to cover the costs of the treatment.

It is anticipated that a good recovery will follow, and Shadow will soon be back to mischief-making with her best friend and adoptive sibling, Bailey.

When Shadow (who was named Scout initially at rescue) was found straying it was obvious her life had been unkind and hard. Her coat was in a shocking state. Thankfully the team at Rainbow Rehoming Centre provided everything this sweet dog needed to get on the road to recovery. As Shadow came into season shortly after being taken in, her spay and dental will take place when the vet advises.

During the time that Shadow has been with them, she’s transformed and today went off with her new family to a safe future where she will be truly loved. Her beautiful character shines bright and she’s left behind a team today who waved her off who have understandably fallen in love with their brave and beautiful Shadow.

A Schnauzerfest Grant is supporting all her veterinary costs.

AUGUST 2021

We’re delighted to report that Shadow is thriving in her new home, she’s having all the love and care in the world and enjoys the comapny of her ‘partner in crime’ almost 14 year old Bailey, adopted from Rainbow Rescue Centre 5 years ago.

Shadow has recently had her spay surgery and long needed dental. Unfortunately for her, it was necessary to remove 14 teeth. But the years of neglect are well and truly behind her, and she’s recovered well and must be feeling a lot better without a rotten mouth.
