Ivy

Ivy is a dog who has known the worst of what the breeding industry means for today’s dogs. She lived in an Irish puppy farm and along with many other dogs was rescued in a large operation. All dogs had multiple heath problems, major psychological damage and had clearly been living in conditions of neglect for a very long time. All were taken in by experienced rescues who undertook to give them everything that was needed to recover from their ordeal.

Ivy was given several weeks of loving care and professional attention at Wicklow SPCA. It wasn’t too long before she settled with the team and was happy to sit in arms and fall asleep. This must have felt like heaven to a dog who had never experienced a kind human . It was certainly special for her carers.

It is slowly, slowly and it gives us great joy to see her relaxing and playing. She loves new smells. As with all of the dogs who arrived from the puppy farm, we are giving them the best care possible.
— Anne, Manager of Wicklow SPCA

After weeks of dedicated care, Ivy was ready to head off to her new home with experienced adopters and new sister.
