Pippa’s story is sad and difficult, for her and the people who asked us for help. She was bought from an online selling site and it was soon apparent that all was not as described. Pippa had clearly been badly treated, most likely from a breeding situation.
We worked swiftly to get Pippa into the experienced care of Dogs Friends Rescue and their fosterer Clare. We are very grateful for their dedication and professionalism. And to the people who bought Pippa and realised all was far from right and she needed more than they could provide if she is to go on to recover and down the line, lead a safe and secure life.
We are happy to say that in her foster home Pippa quickly settled and began to put her worries and difficulties to one side - if not quite yet well behind her.
She has now been spayed and received essential veterinary treatment, in readiness for her adoption.
This is what you make possible when you support Schnauzerfest, thank you.
The commercial, often, illegal puppy trade is cruel and thriving and causing harm to dogs like Pippa on a massive scale. It is something we will never give up wishing to see end. We will do all we can to make the authorities aware of the people involved in selling Pippa. We are grateful for a willingness from those with knowledge to report and work with us. So many turn blind eyes and it is only through reporting that anything stands a chance of improving for the dogs
