When 3 year old Ghost suddenly fell seriously ill, it was with the swift help and intervention of a friend that he was able to receive the emergency care which undoubtedly saved his life.
After 4 days in intensive care, he went home to continue his recovery. Today he is doing very well indeed and we have warm words of thanks to all our donors from those who love Ghost very much indeed.

The timing of Ghost’s illness was especially difficult, plus his owner was experiencing a particularly hard time with health and other challenges. Accessing support for Ghost in the midst of a life threatening emergency was done with the help of a friend who explains more,
“As a friend of Ghost's owner I will never forget the dash we made to get Ghost to the vet. I really did not think he was going to make it. My friend has been having a really tough time recently. His little dog means more than the world to him; he could not bear the thought of what life would be like if Ghost didn't make it.
Unfortunately, we established very quickly that the insurance was not going to cover the bill. This left us both distraught and with a very big problem that we could not solve. We began phoning round the charities to see if any could possibly help us, but time after time the answer was no. We were shattered, deflated and beyond worried about Ghost and the predicament we were in. Until I found Schnauzerfest. The support given from the very first contact was absolutely amazing! We were seriously in need of help, and Schnauzerfest was there for us.
Ghost’s owner was guided through the application for assistance process, and once a full assessment was made, the charity was able to put in place the support that was needed. As a small charity, we cannot help every case, but thanks to amazing donors and supporters, where help can be given, it is often life saving.
