Overnight, diabetic Winston went from being a happy, vibrant dog to suddenly not being able to fnd his way around his home, his food, or do anything he was used to. He had lost his vision with the sudden onset of cataracts.
Fortunately, Winston’s family acted quickly. His vet confirmed that his retinas were responding to light and there was a possiblity his sight could be restored if the cataracts were treatable. Time was of the essence and an urgent referral appointment was made for an ophthalmology consultation. Following the appointment where Winston passed the intial checks, he is booked in for the next stage and it is hoped double cataract surgery will be successfully performed before Christmas.
