When Gromit was diagnosed with a mast cell tumour and biopsies were needed on another lump, plus surgery, the mounting costs were a difficult financial burden on an already stretched budget for him. Following a succesful application for charitable assistance, a contribution was made available from the Schauzerfest Grant fund, helping Gromit’s treatment to proceed. His surgery went ahead and here is he recovering at home:

There’s is every expectation that Gromit’s recovery will be uneventful and he will be back enjoying his walks and pup cakes with the South Coast Schnauzer group very soon.

As a small charity, Schnauzerfest cannot help every dog. But, where there is a clear charitable need, and the criteria for granting assistance are met, through the generous support of its donors, the charity can help dogs receive essential treatment and stay with their families.
