Winston

Winston’s life tipped into turmoil after the death of his owner and the family made the heartbreaking decision that he would be happier with a new family.

By the time they asked us to help, they had drawn blanks with several organisations. All because Winston was displaying some tricky behaviours - poor boy was in a muddle and his family knew this wasn’t really him, it was the sad situation. We were delighted that Hope Rescue in Wales didn’t hesitate to agree to helping when we asked and after a few months with them and working with potential adopters, Winston joined his new family.

That was in 2021.

Today Winston is thriving with his sister Clemmie and they’re the best of friends and love their walks. Unfortunately Winston has developed problems with his knees which various conservative management methods have had limited success treating. After much consideration, and under the guidance of his specialist vet, in January Winston underwent surgery on one of his legs.

Very happily, he did really well with the surgery and his recovery is going well. At his 4 week post-op check he got a great report and his walking regime is steadily increasing. He’ll soon be having an Xray which we’re hoping will confirm everything is doing as well as appears.
