When Susan was found bewildered and alone in a remote country lane, it was suspected that she had been heavily bred from and abandoned. Thankfully she was taken in by the Hope Rescue team.
Lowri was adopted after leaving the breeding industry. She will undergo cataract surgery, an intervention which will help to secure a good future for her.
When Rosie arrived in rescue she was carrying a secret. Within a few days, it was discovered she was pregnant. After spending 18 days in her foster home, she safely delivered 7 puppies.
Rosie and Fred have recently left the breeding industry. They’re learning quickly that life in a regular home with good food, routines, the comfort of sofas and fun of toys is what being a dog is all about.
In the summer Naya had several bouts of illness, with hospital visits required. Each very costly but thankfully covered by insurance. However, when another hit, with insurance cover exceeded, Naya was hospitalised for emergency treatment.
Like many rescues, Dogs Friends have had an incredibly busy and demanding year. Schnauzerfest has been there to help with the costs of veterinary treatment for 5 schnauzers who left their lives in the breeding industry behind in 2024.
