Pippa

Pippa is an ex-breeding dog who has found it difficult adjusting to everything since her rescue. She is in long term foster and we were asked by her rescue Friends of Animals Wales to assist with cruciate surgery. This it is hoped will help her move forwards both physically and emotionally into living a life with less anxiety and inhibition.

The surgery went ahead at the end of March and a couple of months on Pippa is doing well. She has a vet appointment with a progress report from the orthopaedic specialist soon after which it will be clearer how successful her surgery has been.

UPDATE 25 June 2022

A few weeks on from her surgery and Pippa has had X-rays and the reports are all good. She’s doing really well and healing nicely. She can have short on lead walks for the next month and then, all going well, get into a more normal, freer routine.

Julie who is caring for Pippa tells us more about their journey together,

“Pippa is by far was the most damaged dog I have ever had. I don't think that she will ever fully recover as she is severely emotionally damaged. However, she has made great progress, even if the average person may not think so. She used to sit in the furthest corner of the garden and hide, now, with her surgery, she definitely wanted me, saw me as comfort. I am truly grateful to have Pippa and for all your help.”
